Venue & Travel InformationThe 2nd MecaNano General Meeting will be held at the Technische Universität Wien (TU Wien) Campus Karlsplatz (Main building A, Karlsplatz 13, 1040 Wien) with Helmut Riedl-as the local organizer. Verena Maier-Kiener and Megan Cordill are additional organizers of the meeting. Internet is provided by eduroam.
The main meeting will take place at the Festsaal and the poster sessions in the adjacent Böcklsaal (Main building A, Karlsplatz 13, 1040 Wien). The meeting rooms can be reached by using the “Karlsplatz” U-bahn stop, exit Karlsplatz/Resselpark. This will get you the closest to the venue and avoid the city traffic at street level.
Festsaal Böcklsaal
Traveling to Vienna Vienna is a major hub for Europe with direct connections to all major European cities (most less than 2 hr flight) and is quite centrally located for many ITCs. The conference room is centrally located in Vienna, near several different forms of public transport, museums, attractions, and restaurants. From the airport, people could get to the venue in about 45 minutes on public transport (train & U-Bahn), and from the main train station the venue could be reached in about 20 minutes (U-Bahn). The main train station has international connections with Germany, Switzerland, France, Czech Republic, Italy, Poland, and Hungry. Scotty should be available in all app stores. Please be aware that train delays often occur, especially from/through Germany. Please plan your travel accordingly.
Hotels Each participant is required to reserve their own hotel for the stay. There are many options in the city to choose from and the venue is centrally located. Please use your preferred booking method/website. |
